I spend a lot of time making pixel art, both for fun and for little GameMaker projects. I'm gonna try to make an effort to share it more.

What the What!? This Guy's Still Alive?

Hey guys, miss me? Just got out of the hospital and got a big dose of motivation. So along with cleaning my entire apartment, I decided to dig up a couple drawings I've done this year and share them. Been working on a new project lately. This time it's a platformer. I learn more every time I start a new project. I'm excited to see how far I'm able to take this one.

Anyway, been working on games again, hopefully soon there'll be something to show you guys. I've got lots of good code working but I still need to decide what direction I'm going as far as theme and art are concerned.

I don't think I've mentioned it before on my blog, but I have imaginary worlds that I often spend time in when I should be doing something otherwise constructive. And my favorite one is part of a big project I've been tinkering around in for several years now.

Anyway, it's a pretty nerdy endeavor and I've been hesitant to share it. Plus most of it is just in the form of personal notes for myself and nothing I've made has been presentable until now.  But I got an itch finally to draw a few Scouts so finally here is a bit of evidence for all that time and thought. The Scouts are one of several factions in the universe. Anyway, nothing special, just getting back into doing art for the enjoyment and not letting my limitations stop me.

Post-Hiatus

Sorry guys, kinda dropped off the face of the art world for a bit. Got pretty busy with jobs, existential crises, and moving back to California. In other words, life... Anyway, I recently started a Star Wars tabletop RPG online with a few friends online. My fiance and I rolled a smuggler duo named Shi and Jayfor. This was the first piece of art I'd done in a long time. But it felt good to get back to drawing.

 

Project1:Update4

Hey guys. So this is gonna be my last Project1 update for a while. I'm proud of what I did. I learned a crazy amount from doing it. And it was all really fun. But I've decided to move on for now. I'm sure I'll at least come back and reuse the art.

So if any of you are interested in checking out where I got with my first ever Game Maker game, then here it is.

Controls are WASD, left mouse button, right mouse button, E, and shift.
